Diego Schwartzman falls victim to a terrifying car theft in Argentina

Diego Schwartzman will be playing his last few months on the tour before calling it a day and retiring soon. But he returned to his car after practice only to realize that perhaps he made the right choice.

Schwartzman parked his car while he went to practice and returned to find his car had been vandalized. He will retire from the sport in the coming months and play until Argentina, where he will call it a day.

When he returned to his car, he found “everything stolen” and the windows smashed. It’s also not the first time this has happened. His hotel room was broken into during the 2022 Eastbourne International.

He announced on Instagram that his car had been broken into. The 32-year-old shared two photos showing the broken glass in his Jeep. “If you leave the court, everything will be stolen,” he wrote in Spanish. A broken heart emoji summed it up.

He was honored with a retirement ceremony during his final appearance at the US Open, where he qualified for the main draw. But he lost to Gael Monfils.

“Yes, it was hard. I had a watch stolen from my room yesterday and Schwartzman had some things stolen from his room as well,” Martinez said during his latest break-in in Eastbourne.
