Two arrested after child exploitation investigation in Okmulgee

OKMULGEE, Okla. (KFOR) – Two people have been taken into custody following a child exploitation investigation in Okmulgee, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

The OSBI says Okmulgee police requested the agency’s assistance on Oct. 21 in a child sexual abuse case.

Earlier that day, officials said someone told police about the production of child sex abuse material at a home in Okmulgee. Upon arrival, OSBI special agents began an investigation and identified 31-year-old Jennifer Prescott and her mother, 56-year-old Sharon Mitchell. It was determined that the two women sexually exploited one of the two children living with them.

A search warrant led officers to explicit photos on the suspects’ electronic devices. Based on the investigation, both Prescott and Mitchell were arrested and booked into the Okmulgee County Jail on charges of child sexual exploitation. Their bail has been set at $100,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
