Lexington man arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) – A Lexington man was arrested Thursday on charges of sexual exploitation of minors.

The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said 22-year-old Jared Harmon was arrested after investigators discovered he was distributing files containing child sexual abuse material.

Harmon was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, according to officials.

Investigators said they discovered Harmon after receiving a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Harmon’s case will be prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Office.
