Walz had a ‘secret affair’ with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official, report says

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had a “secret affair” with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official in 1989, according to TheDailyMail.com.

The relationship is said to have taken place while Governor Walz was teaching in China and before he became governor. Jenna Wang, the daughter of CCP official Bin Hui, reportedly told the publication that Walz “showered her with gifts” during his stay there.

Both reportedly fought to keep the relationship secret due to Chinese cultural norms and Governor Walz’s desire not to risk association with the CCP. The relationship reportedly led Wang to wonder if they would ever get married.

However, according to TheDailyMail.com, Walz never proposed. Wang reportedly said the relationship made her feel “like a prostitute,” making her angry and suicidal.

“Tim was very passionate and very romantic,” Wang reportedly said of Governor Walz. “I remember dancing with him to our favorite song, Careless Whisper. The fact that we couldn’t touch or kiss in public made it all the more exciting and intense when we were finally alone.”

We were very much in love and I wanted to marry him and have a family,” she reportedly said. “When it didn’t happen, I felt very unhappy and sad. Tim’s behavior was very selfish.”

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said Monday that the story could be devastating to the governor’s hopes of reaching the White House.

“If today’s story in @DailyMail is true, Tim Walz dated the daughter of a senior Chinese Communist Party official and remained in contact with her for years,” he wrote. “If you want to become vice president of the United States, voters deserve to know about every link you have to the CCP.”

The Harris campaign did not respond to a request for comment from The National News Desk about the allegations.

Governor Walz’s time in China has come under scrutiny since he joined the Harris ticket, partly due to false claims made by the governor. He previously falsely claimed to have visited Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests.

Governor Walz called himself a “knucklehead” when he brought up this claim during the vice presidential debate with Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio.

The House Oversight Committee in September condemned the FBI for allegedly dodging investigations into Gov. Walz’s ties to the CCP.

“The FBI told the committee that the Bureau’s Foreign Influence Task Force is investigating these types of CCP activities,” the report wrote. “The Committee is concerned that Mr. Walz’s involvement with Chinese entities and officials may have allowed the CCP to influence his decision-making as a Congressman and Governor and that the CCP could potentially influence the White House if Mr. Walz is appointed deputy president would be elected. .”
