Thieves strike during CM's procession, gold, cash stolen

Thane: Five office bearers of the Shiv Sena The Shinde faction was robbed of their gold, cash and other valuables worth Rs 6.5 lakh during the prime minister’s term. Eknath Shinde‘s procession to file his candidacy nomination amid the event held in Thane’s Wagle Estate area on Monday. The procession was intended as a show of strength, but ended with multiple reports of theft targeting high-profile Shinde faction officials. The victims included five senior office bearers, including a former corporator, who reported losses totaling around Rs 6.5 lakh. The stolen items included gold chains weighing 12 and 6 tolas, mobile phones, cash and important identification documents. The meeting, which was part of Shinde’s nomination petition for Kopri Pachpakhadi constituency, attracted a huge crowd, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Nishikant Karlikar
