The male eagle in the Avon Lake nest was Stripes the entire time

The mystery surrounding what happened to Avon Lake eagle duo Stars and Stripes has finally been solved.

The male in the nest was Stripes the whole time.

This is according to eagle expert Cindy Duffala, who posted her findings in a private Facebook group for eagle watchers.

“I was able to get 100% confirmation tonight that the male IS Stripes!!” Duffala posted in the group.

Duffala said in the post that she saw Stripes fly into the nest with a fish around 5:44 PM on Tuesday.

On October 22, a new pair of eagles were believed to have taken over the eagle nest that Stars and Stripes had used in Avon Lake for the past decade.

According to a separate Facebook post in the same group, Stars was seen flying around on Sunday afternoon before staying in the nest for a while.

It is not clear whether Stars was actually missing or whether she was also here all along.
