Participate in the film in crucial roles Bryan CranstonBrendan Fraser, and Al Pacino. Levinson talked about the film’s premise (via Deadline):

Dorothy Kilgallen was the first female crime reporter in America. She was the only woman to ever cover the JFK case. The only reporter to speak to Jack Ruby. With back-channel resources for the Warren Commission, she began putting pieces together that no one else was doing. She died under very suspicious circumstances, but this was never investigated.

Production will start in Boston in early 2025. The film is produced by Corey Large and Jason Sosnoff. Large shared, “Dorothy Kilgallen’s journey is one of the most fascinating untold stories and we are thrilled to bring it to life for an enthusiastic audience.” Sosnoff added, “She was relentless and courageous in her pursuit of the truth, and this film is both her story and the revelation of what happened that day in Dallas.”

The film almost reminds us of Oliver Stone’s controversial film JFK. Stone’s film also looked at the JFK conspiracy through the eyes of attorney Jim Garrison, who did not believe the official version of what happened.

Oliver Stone‘S JFK raised several questions about the country’s political landscape at the time. Kevin Costner played attorney Jim Garrison who disbelieved the official version of the murder according to the Warren Commission’s findings.

Garrison believed there was a conspiracy theory to overthrow Kennedy and place Lyndon B. Johnson in the president’s chair. He believed that Lee Harvey Oswald was just a scapegoat in the grand scheme of things. Oliver Stone and writer Zachary Sklar adapted the screenplay from two books, On the trail of the killers by Garrison and Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy by Jim Marrs.

Stone was accused of spreading lies as soon as the movie hit theaters. During the film’s 25th anniversary in 2016, Stone shared with Variety that the film is a “hot potato” from the start and believed this would send the establishment in the wrong direction. Costner defended the film, saying it had made people question those in power.

JFK was partially credited with the JFK Act that reversed the decision to seal the official records of the assassination from the public until 2029. Most of the documents were made public in 2017. According to Box Office Mojothe film earned $205 million at the box office.

Murder will hit theaters in 2026 JFK is now available to rent on AppleTV+.
