Najib was assigned to answer the RM2.27b 1MDB graft case

The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered Najib Abdul Razak to defend himself on four counts of abuse of power and 21 counts of money laundering involving RM2.27 billion of 1MDB funds.

Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah ruled that the prosecution has succeeded in establishing a prima facie (responsible) case against the former prime minister over the company wholly owned by Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc).

Last week, Najib apologized for the 1MDB debacle in a statement read by his son, while maintaining his innocence.
