DSWD collaborates with the International Justice Mission for the Protection of Children Versus Online Exploitation

Ministry of Social Welfare and Development (DSWDMinister Rex Gatchalian will meet with leaders of the International Justice Mission (IJM) on Wednesday (October 30) to discuss pressing concerns about online child sexual abuse and exploitation (OSAEC).

The DSWD and the IJM assured their steadfast commitment to ensuring the well-being of Filipino children, especially those affected by OSAEC.

The DSWD will continue its efforts to combat OSAEC through the development of Project SAFE for OSAEC victim survivors.

Project SAFE aims to strengthen the protective mechanism for the recovery and safe reintegration of OSAEC victim survivors.

During the meeting with IJM representatives Atty. Rey Bicol, Atty. Sam Inocencio, Ms. Dolly Rubia, and Mr. Ted Romo, Secretary Gatchalian, cited the importance of an intensified advocacy campaign to help break the stigma and misconceptions attached to OSAEC victim survivors.

The head of the DSWD was accompanied by Helen Suzara, director of the Social Technology Bureau and Darlene Dancel, head of the Child and Youth Department.
