Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on Wednesday, the Prime Minister accused A Revanth Reddy of petty politics by trying to implicate him and other BRS leaders in a drug scandal. He drew parallels with previous accusations against the working president of the BRS KT Rama Raowhich ultimately did not last, claiming that this latest attempt would also backfire.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s challenge to BRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs to undergo drug tests, Kaushik Reddy stated that he was willing. “All our MLAs are waiting. We have not been called yet, but we are ready to give our samples,” he said while talking to media at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.

He recalled that though Congress MP Anil Kumar Yadav and MLC Balmuri Venkat visited AIG hospitals for drug test, they had not informed the BRS MLAs about it in advance. “Anil came to the hospital without informing us and sneaked in like a thief. Had he informed the media and us, all our 28 MLAs would have been waiting at the AIG hospital,” Kaushik Reddy said.

However, the BRS MLA stated that his fight was not with Anil Kumar Yadav but with the Chief Minister himself. He challenged Revanth Reddy and other Congress elected representatives to undergo drug tests along with the BRS MLAs and MPs. He suggested that the congressman set a date and location for a public drug test in front of the media.

Rejecting Revanth Reddy’s claims to erase the legacy of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Kaushik Reddy wondered whether Revanth Reddy could discuss a single event or meeting without mentioning the name of the BRS president.

“The name of our leader is not something written on walls by a painter to be erased; it is etched in the hearts of the people of Telangana,” he asserted.
