Craven County men sentenced to prison for drug possession

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Two felons and a drug trafficker have been sentenced to active time in Craven County Superior Court.

According to the press release, Juan Antonia Grimes and Robert Wayne Hardison II are habitual criminals. Grimes was sentenced to a prison sentence of more than eight years to almost eleven years. Grimes was convicted of the following crimes:

  • two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or supply cocaine

  • two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine

  • one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver fentanyl

  • one count of assault on a female

Robert Wayne Hardison II was convicted on one count of trafficking in opioids by possession. Hardison was sentenced to more than seven years to just under ten years in prison. He must also pay a fine of $50,000.

Zachary Paul Koonce was convicted of one count of trafficking fentanyl, one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of possession of a schedule II substance. Koonce received a prison sentence of 70-93 and was ordered to pay fines of more than $50,000.
