The Las Vegas Sun – in the 2024 election state of Nevada, where former President Donald Trump is polling less than 1 percentage point ahead from Democratic rival Kamala Harris – has issued a sharp rebuke to the Republican nominee.

The newspaper warned in an editorial published Wednesday that Trump’s “racism, sexism, xenophobia” and more not only make him totally “unfit for any public office,” but that his “mental acuity and acuity are also declining.”

“The nation must confront the fact that, in addition to his hateful nature, he is cognitively crippled and exhibits clear signs of mental illness,” the administration wrote, giving multiple examples of Trump’s “fragility.”

Trump “has never had the moral compass to lead this country,” the paper concluded. “But even his supporters cannot afford to ignore the signs that he may no longer have the mental capacity to lead either. The stakes are simply too high.”
