Second gang member arrested after fight led to woman being shot dead: Grady Judd

MULBERRY, Fla. – Investigators have arrested a second gang member just hours after a violent argument led to the shooting of a woman Polk County The sheriff’s office.

Joshua Clark, aka “Chop,” is now in custody, along with Jose Coronado, aka “Tweety,” who was arrested earlier Thursday.

At a news conference Thursday morning, Sheriff Grady Judd said Clark and Jose Coronado, who are members of rival gangs, met early Thursday along Levins Road near Mulberry.

According to Judd, the men had an argument, with Coronado grabbing a gun from his vehicle as Clark retreated. Coronado’s gun went off, hitting his 28-year-old girlfriend, Mary Dino, in the chest.

Coronado then fired shots at Clark, leading to a shootout, Judd said.

The sheriff said Coronado then drove Dino to Ryals Road, where he placed her in the back of a truck and told the people inside to take her to the hospital because he had a warrant and had to leave. Dino later died.

Judd said investigators tracked Coronado’s car about 20 miles down US 17 north of Fort Meade, where a pursuit began. Deputies performed a PIT maneuver and took Coronado into custody.

Clark was on the run for several more hours before he was caught, PCSO said. No further details about his arrest have been released.

Judd said both men are known meth dealers and are part of what he called a “cranker colony.” Coronado had an arrest warrant for failing to appear in a meth case Hillsborough County.

“I’m tired of hearing people say drugs are easy and non-violent,” Judd said.
