Midway Park man arrested on drug trafficking charges

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Midway Park man is behind bars after officers say a traffic stop led to them finding large amounts of drugs in his vehicle.

According to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, it happened yesterday shortly before 11 p.m. near the corner of Piney Green Road and Rocky Run Road.

Officers say the traffic stop revealed the passenger, Timothy Scott, had been trafficking quantities of fentanyl.

The 43-year-old Midway Park man was charged with:

Three charges of trafficking in opium or heroin
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Manufacture of Schedule II controlled substance

Scott was jailed on a $150,000 bond.

Deputies say arrest warrants are pending for a second suspect involved, and similar charges are expected.
