GMB’s Kate Garraway warns ‘be careful’ as co-star almost swears on air | Television and radio | Showbiz and TV

Good morning Kate Garraway from Great Britain had to issue a word of caution about Friday’s programme, as she was co-hosting with Adil Ray.

Amid the morning’s discussions and news reports, one headline in particular caused a moment of alarm.

Reading from The Suns newspaper, Adil stated: “Farmers are furious and have warned of mass destruction and possible food shortages after the Chancellor’s budget. With their headline ‘A kick in the oxen’.”

Kate was quick to remind her colleague of the delicate nature of the term as Adil attempted to reach the day’s guests for further debate, noting: “You have to be careful how you say that!”

He replied: Yes, I had been rehearsing it in my head for a while.”

After successfully navigating the linguistic minefield, they enlisted former MPs Nadine Dorries and Caroline Louise Flint to dissect the recent budget proposals, reports the mirror.

The introduction of a significant increase to the NHS of £22.6 billion over the next two years was one of the topics Adil highlighted, noting the important decisions on the allocation of these funds.

Yet it didn’t take long for the focus to shift to Nadine and a confession she made publicly.

He commented: ‘Wes Streeting has already talked about them going to spend money on weight loss drugs and jabs. You write this week, Nadine, that you spent three months at Mounjaro. That’s one of the jabs that a ‘King-Kong’ of weight loss drugs to try to reduce your weight.”

The ITV presenter did not mince his words when expressing his surprise at Nadine’s medical revelations, with the former MP admitting her actions were taken under doctor’s orders.

She confessed: “My first call was to tell me I was pre-diabetic, the second call was to tell me nothing had changed, I was actually more pre-diabetic and really needed to lose 12 pounds as quickly as possible. I could do it.”

Kate, visibly surprised, interjected with sympathy, saying, “You never looked particularly fat, though Nadine.”

The segment quickly turned a bit comical when Nadine pointed out that an image of her flashing on the screen was inaccurate.

She corrected the presenters with a touch of humor, noting: “That’s not one, no. That photo is twelve years old!”

There was awkward giggling in the studio when she clarified that the photo had been taken during her second term in the House of Commons in 2010, prompting Kate to sheepishly apologise: ‘Oh, I’m sorry. the photo for some reason we have.”

Despite the on-air blunder, Nadine continued to discuss her weight loss journey, saying she managed to lose almost two stone, seeing herself free of pre-diabetes, albeit with a slight increase in cholesterol levels during treatment.

Good Morning Britain can be seen on ITV on weekdays from 6am.
