Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol’ Stars Talk Reunion & Tease Finale (Exclusive)

The dream team is back – and already in big trouble. After survivors Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) finally reunited with an emotional hug on the October 20 episode AMC‘S The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spin-off, subtitled The book Carol for season 2, fans have been treated to some very intense #Caryl moments… and a clean-up for their friends and enemies alike.

And yet we know that Carol and Daryl will survive. Their unlikely but steadfast friendship, formed in the earliest days of the apocalypse on AMC’s flagship, has already overcome murderous and brutal dictators, shed much blood and guts in their zombie-infested world – and now a journey across the Atlantic Ocean . Carol went looking for her best friend in France, only to find the grumpy American southerner dismembering the undead in an abbey in Normandy. Talk about unexpected.

“That was like one of those days you put on your calendar, like Christmas,” Reedus remembers of filming Carol and Daryl’s big reunion. “We all worked on (that scene) to get it to a point where we thought it was really perfect.”

And while seeing the two get back together, it certainly does very magnificent, There is still chaos surrounding them as the drama heads into this week’s action.packed final. Carol can’t just grab Daryl and throw him into her pilot friend Ash’s plane (Manish Dayal) to fly home – especially since we’ve now seen Ash’s furious reaction in the hour of October 27 to the news that Carol was manipulating him by claiming she was looking abroad for her daughter, instead of Daryl. “How would you respond?” McBride asked coyly, when asked about the altercation earlier in the season, adding, “It surprises her a little bit.”

And then Ash dropped an even bigger bomb during their desperate escape from France: his plane can only carry three, and someone has to stay behind. Will it be the recently escaped Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi)who, according to the surviving followers of The Nest, is a messiah with the ability to survive a bite from the undead? Daryl still wants to bring Laurent to America, but can he complete his mission to save the youngster he has grown so attached to given this new twist? It might not be him, Reedus teases: “Laurent is a very interesting character because if he believes something in his heart, that’s what he’s going to do.”

Season 3 of Daryl Dixon has already been ordered and will remain so set and filmed in Spain. AMC’s official logline states that the next round “follows Carol and Daryl as they continue their journey home and the ones they love.” So we have some theories about how this could play out. Until then, Allons-y!
