I grew up in New Britain, Connecticut, and when I was 18, I fulfilled my dream of moving to New York City for college. I ended up staying there for another three years after school, and I still think it’s the most incredible place in the world.

Still, I felt like I needed a change. Things in my life were a bit stagnant, so I packed up and… moved to Los Angeles hoping to find work in the film industry.

Moving across the country is expensive – it costs thousands of dollars only for professional movers – and I knew I was taking a risk. But I was also excited about the new adventure.
