Man convicted for role in violent armed home invasion in Bethlehem Twp. | Bethlehem area

BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. – A jury has found a man guilty of an armed home invasion that occurred in Northampton County in 2023.

Michael Angelo Matas was sentenced Friday for his role in the violent burglary and armed home invasion robbery, according to a news release from the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.

The district attorney’s office said the jury found him guilty of burglary, theft and conspiracy after a four-day trial. He was found not guilty of simple assault, according to the news release.

The burglary, theft and conspiracy charges carry maximum penalties of up to 20 years in prison, the district attorney’s office said. With the conviction, Matas will remain in prison until his sentencing, the prosecutor’s office said.

Along with Matas, police have also charged Anthony Santiago and Francis Ferrando for their roles in the home invasion, the news release said.

Santiago was arraigned on Oct. 7, where a jury convicted him of burglary, three counts of theft, conspiracy and simple assault, the district attorney’s office said.
