Bayshore enforces the parental control policy for minors

Bayshore enforces the parental control policy for minors

New changes are coming to Bayshore that will require parental controls for minors.

As of Friday, November 1, Bayshore is now part of the list of area shopping centers where minors require the supervision of an adult at certain times of the day.

“I didn’t know. Now I have to break that news. Now we have to plan around this new rule,” said Kisha Burgss, a mother and Milwaukee resident.

Bayshore Parental Control Requirements

The new rule requires children 17 and younger to have a parent or guardian present at certain times.

“I think it’s protective for the businesses here. I think ultimately it’s just another space that’s being taken away from kids,” said Harper Mosesson, a Milwaukee resident.

The policy must be followed after 3:00 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“Now we need to plan around this new rule,” Burgss added.

Burgss says her teenage daughter regularly shops in the area and is now planning the outings.

“I understand the decision, but I don’t care. That leaves everyone taking the blame for something they may not be responsible for,” Burgss said.

Security will be on site to enforce the policy and request ID as proof of age.

Guests who do not follow Bayshore’s Code of Conduct will be asked to leave. If they don’t or refuse to do so, they can be arrested for trespassing.

“Increase safety. Don’t punish the kids for what other kids do, that’s not fair,” Burgss said.

“It’s a little sad that it’s being taken away,” Mosesson said.

While Bayshore declined FOX6’s request for an on-camera interview, website it says this decision has been made to ensure an enjoyable experience for visitors, and to ensure this is not in response to a specific incident.
