Thieves target the San Antonio cancer charity and steal Christmas gifts for children

Despite setbacks, the nonprofit pledges to continue supporting cancer families

Organizers with local nonprofits BIG love for cancer care are frustrated after thieves broke into their storage unit for the fourth time this year.

On a recent Facebook afterAccording to the organization, thieves have taken many items intended to give to children with cancer. Some of those items included port pillows, cancer fairies, diagnostic bags and toys.

These toys would be given to cancer families during the organization’s annual Holiday Shoppe event.

“Toys that went under the Christmas tree this year. Toys that would put a smile on a little boy or girl’s face,” the post said.

According to the post, this is the fourth time this year that the organization has experienced storage theft or bank fraud.

There are many ways you can help the nonprofit replenish its supplies:

  • Register to play or sponsor the tournament.

“Thank you for your support. We will not let these thieves stop us from serving our families,” the post concludes.
