It’s the final day of the 2024 campaign. This is where Harris and Trump are headed

Tomorrow is election day. That means a last-ditch effort by former President Donald Trump and Vice President Harris to try to stoke excitement and motivate supporters to get to the polls in a race that the polls have shown to be essentially even — and one big symbolic hurray at the end, because each and every one of them.

Trump will conclude with a late night rally Grand Rapids, Mich., where he capped his 2016 victory – and returned to 2020, noting he was “a little superstitious.”

Harris, who calls himself the “underdog” of the 2024 race, will conclude with a concert in the “Rocky stairs” from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, made famous in the ultimate underdog movie.

Trump kicks off in North Carolina

Trump’s venue in Raleigh – Dorton Arena – was one of his stops on the final day of the 2016 campaign. But unlike 2016, 2020 and even earlier in 2024, Trump would take the stage in front of a reduced-capacity audience. .

About 30 minutes into the pre-show program, there were several sections of empty seats in the arena for approximately 7,500 people.

Trump held three rallies in North Carolina this weekend. This was not intended to be a swing state. Republicans carried it for decades, with the exception of former President Barack Obama in 2008. Trump won it twice.

But the race with Harris has been highly competitive and Trump has spent more time in North Carolina than in Pennsylvania – another state crucial on his path to victory. In the western part of the state, Hurricane Helene devastated several counties threatened to disrupt the voting process.

The governor’s race, where unpopular GOP nominee Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson has done so faced numerous controversiesthreatens to drag Trump to the top of the ticket.

Harris starts in Scranton, Pennsylvania – Joe Biden’s hometown

Harris is spending her entire day in Pennsylvania, starting in Scranton — perhaps an odd choice, as she has tried to draw a distinction between herself and President Biden.

Biden hasn’t been out much. But on Saturday he made one of his few campaign stops in Scranton. He will be at the White House on Monday when Harris speaks to people before they go out to knock on doors.

They will both be in Pennsylvania’s “Latino corridor.”

Both candidates have been fighting to win over Latino voters in Pennsylvania this year. There are approximately 580,000 Latino voters living in the statemost with Puerto Rican ties.

Democrats found a new opening after a comedian called Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash” during Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, sparking outrage among the Latino community.

Trump will hold a rally in Reading at 2 p.m. ET, while Harris will hold one in Allentown, an hour away along the highway. 222 hallway. Then she stops by a Puerto Rican restaurant in Reading with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y.

Penultimate Stops: Dueling Pittsburgh Rallies

Before heading to their grand finals, each candidate stops in Steeltown. Trump will hold a rally here at 6:00 PM ET, while Harris will deliver remarks at her rally around 8:30 PM ET. Both candidates spent a lot of time during the campaign in Pittsburgh, a former Democratic stronghold when Republicans made big strides. Harris is joined by D-Nice, Katy Perry and Andra Day.
