Esquire readers receive 25% off WatchPro Salon 2024

For anyone with even a passing interest in watches, two of the most important events on the annual calendar are approaching.

Both are hosted by WatchPro, a cross-platform destination for learning more about the watch industry used by gamers and CEOs alike.

First up, WatchPro Salon, a two-day live event showcasing the best of independent British watchmaking, returns to The Londoner Hotel in London’s Leicester Square on November 1-2.

Brands exhibiting this year include: Studio Underd0g, Brew Watch Co, Duckworth Prestex, MAD Editions, Maen, Fortis, Detrash and others.

The WatchPro showroom is a friendly environment where you can meet brands, experience watches in person, browse the selection of pre-owned watches available for purchase at the used showroom in partnership with eBay, and generally interact with other enthusiasts.

Tickets start at a quite reasonable £20, but Esquire readers are entitled to 25 percent discount.

“We have seen an increase in interest in independent watchmaking in this country over the last few years, but retailers have been slow to get on board,” he says Watch Pro editor Rob Corder.

“The WatchPro showroom is one of the few opportunities where we can see the work of dozens of young brands up close.

“It has been growing year on year since we made the crazy decision to launch the program in 2021, when No 10 was still telling people to stay at home with masks made from something they found at the bottom of the laundry basket.

“Ironically, lockdowns have unlocked a huge passion for watches in this country that has transformed the market. People who thought Rolex was the only brand they could love discovered the joys of independent watchmaking.

“This, in turn, sparked a tsunami of creativity from brands like Studio Underd0g, SpaceOne, ID Geneve, Horage, Wilbur and Atelier Wen. These and forty other people will present their latest watches at the Salon this year.”

Then there are live conversations.

“If you’ve ever wanted to see Bremont’s new CEO, Davide Cerrato, in the hot seat and take on the task, as the watchmaking evangelists would have it, of killing off their beloved brand, the WatchPro showroom is the place to be,” says Corder.

“I will be questioning my boss about the wisdom of abandoning almost everything the Bremont co-founders fought for during a fireside chat on the first day of the program.”

The second WatchPro event will take place on October 31 – the WatchPro Awards, celebrating the industry’s best and most noteworthy achievements in 2024.

This year’s edition takes place at the Pan Pacific Hotel on London’s Square Mile.
