The search is ongoing, as a result of a building collapse in Bengaluru, 5 people died and 13 were rescued

On Wednesday, October 23, police said four more bodies were recovered during search and rescue operations following the collapse of an under-construction building in Bengaluru’s Babusapalya.

Teams from the fire and rescue services, NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and State Disaster Response Force have been called to duty since the incident that occurred on Tuesday, October 22, they said.

The incident took place when there was heavy rain in the city.

One employee died, and on Tuesday, October 22, the rescue team found his body.

“Five bodies have been recovered so far and five others have been injured. An operation is underway to trace three more persons suspected to be trapped,” said D. Devaraja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru East).

He added that 13 people have been rescued so far.

According to the official, it is a seven-story building.

Initial findings indicate that the entire building collapsed and people were trapped under it, said a representative of the fire brigade.
