Georgia high school shooting suspect pleads not guilty

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) – A 14-year-old accused in the fatal shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia has pleaded not guilty.

Court documents show Colt Gray filed his complaint in Barrow County Superior Court on Tuesday. Colt and his lawyer also waived the formal settlement and requested a jury trial.

Colt and Colin Gray are expected to be tried separately.

His father, Colin Gray, also faces charges in connection with the shooting. He faces 29 charges, including second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, manslaughter and recklessness. Authorities say he gave Colt access to the gun used in the shooting.

Students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, 14, and teachers Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall were killed in the Sept. 4 shooting.

Colt and his father are expected to be tried separately.
