Video: Bermuda at the Pickleball Opening Ceremony

Yesterday (October 22), the Bermuda national pickleball team took part in the opening ceremony of the Pickleball World Cup in Lima, Peru.

Players from the Pickleball Association of Bermuda (PAB) will compete in the Men’s Open Elite Division, Junior Division, Women’s Division, Senior Men’s Division and Senior Women’s Division.

Bermuda will compete against 27 countries in the elite league and 16 in the senior league, including countries such as the United States, Brazil, China and regional counterparts the Bahamas and Cayman Islands.

Qualification for the World Cup was made based on players’ performances in international and local tournaments, their Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR), and results from two national trials held on March 17 and June 9.

The World Cup will last until October 28.
