Upper Darby firefighters rescue victim from manhole – Delco Times

Upper Darby firefighters rescued an injured worker working in a manhole on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the victim became trapped in a drain at 300 Bloomfield Avenue in Drexel Hill.

A special operations team from Upper Darby firefighters was dispatched to provide a technical rescue.

Teams used a rope on a tripod to wisely pull the victim vertically out of the narrow manhole, the Upper Darby Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

The team removed the employee within 13 minutes, and Crozer Health paramedics transported him to the hospital for evaluation.
