October 26 – ARREST

A Falls woman was arrested Thursday at 4:20 p.m. after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 800 block of Portage Road. The 35-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny. She is accused of taking more than $41 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

ARREST

A Gasport man was arrested on drunken driving and other charges after police said he nearly hit a car while running a stop sign and then fled from officers in the 2700 block of Pierce Avenue Thursday at 9 p.m. The 28-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign and speeding in a zone.

THEFT

Police are investigating a theft on the 3800 block of Chase Road in Royalton. The victim told a Niagara County sheriff’s deputy that he noticed missing items outside his pole barn at 11 a.m. Sunday. He estimated the value at $100 and said it was an ongoing problem. The deputy advised that items should be locked in the pole barn.

FRAUD

Police are investigating a case of fraud in the 400 block of Young Street in Wilson. The victim told a Niagara County sheriff’s deputy that she had been asked by a male caller to send gift cards to repay the $13,000 she said he had deposited into her bank account. She didn’t do that, but she’s not sure if her personal information was compromised.

THEFT

Police are investigating a theft on the 2100 block of Transit Road in Newfane. The victim said on Oct. 19 that items were missing from the driveway of a store he co-owns. The total value is approximately $1,900.

ARREST

A woman was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after eating food and not paying for it at a business on Robinson Road in the City of Lockport. The woman, whose age and address were not released, is charged with petit larceny. She is accused of drinking two cups of coffee and eating a honey bun worth a total of $4.56.
