Perfect San Francisco Giants focus heavily on Los Angeles Dodgers

Perfect San Francisco Giants focus heavily on Los Angeles Dodgers

The worst outcome for the San Francisco giants this winter they would lose all their top free agent targets to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

It’s more than fair to suggest that the Dodgers are currently in a different tier than the Giants. In fact, it will take a lot for San Francisco to even be in the same conversations as Los Angeles.

They are the standard in Major League Baseball in terms of purchasing power, and if the Giants want to get to that point, they can only match what the Dodgers are doing.

Los Angeles has given other teams the blueprint for finding success. While that hasn’t exactly helped them win five World Series in a row, the Dodgers have been an above-average team every season.

But playing together in the National League West brings challenges for San Francisco.

If they lost a player to other teams, it wouldn’t be that bad. For now, they’re chasing Los Angeles and need to win any free agent battle over them.

That could be the case this winter if the Giants show interest in a star shortstop Willy Adames.

Adames is the hottest center fielder on the market and would be the perfect solution to San Francisco’s center problems.

The two are linked, but Jim Bowden from The Athletics did not do this in his last article.

Bowden actually believes the Dodgers are the best candidate for him.

“I expected Willy Adames to be traded to the Dodgers after Corey Seager left as a free agent in 2021, but that never happened as the Brewers remained a contender and never made him available. Now that Adames has now reached free agency, the Dodgers are viewed as a heavy favorite to land him, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman had Adames in his organization for a few years when he was GM of the Rays and has always been a big fan of the player Adames is a perfect fit for the left side the Dodgers infield.”

He predicted his contract, which was for six years and $150 million.

Los Angeles has repeatedly shown over the past decade that a $150 million contract is pocket change.

The Giants haven’t been cheap, but they have had trouble landing star players.

Adames is an All-Star caliber guy and a “star” by some definitions, but he isn’t one of the top 10 in the sport.

Nevertheless, he would be a great fit and someone the team needs.
