Indianapolis Colts Stars delivered critical performance in loss to Houston Texans

The Indianapolis foals (4-4) lost a hard-fought battle to its AFC South division rival Houston Texans (6-2) on Sunday 23/20.

Even though it was only a three-point lossthe noise surrounding quarterback Anthony Richardson’s play and head coach Shane Steichen’s decision-making feels like an even more consequential outcome.

However, the deep dives into what went wrong and what still needs to be resolved are coming and not intended for this piece. There are some gems you can dig up throughout this game and there are kudos you can give out for milestones achieved.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson was 10 of 32 passing (31.3%) for 175 yards (5.5 YPA), 1 touchdown, 1 interception and a passer rating of 48.3, as well as 6 carries for 45 yards (7.5 average).

Anthony Richardson’s 31.3% completion percentage (10 of 32) marks just the 16th time in Colts history (Indy/Balt) that QB has completed less than 32%. Worst since Jeff George finished 6 of 24 (25%) in a 13-10 win over Patriots in 1990. Has only happened four times in the Indy era.

Running back Jonathan Taylor ran the ball 20 times for 105 yards (5.3 avg.) and 1 touchdown.

Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught 1 of 6 targets for 16 yards (16.0 avg).

Wide receiver Josh Downs caught 4 of 9 targets for 109 yards (27.3 avg.) and 1 touchdown.

Linebacker Segun Olubi Had 2 tackles.
