Police respond to serious robbery | Western Colorado

A suspect in an aggravated robbery at a Dairy Queen on North Avenue is being sought by Grand Junction police.

Saturday at approximately 9:25 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers responded to the Dairy Queen at 709 North Avenue for a report of a possible robbery.

According to police, a man broke into the freezer, stole items and confronted an employee with a knife. No injuries were reported and the suspect then left in a red Jeep Cherokee.

Later Saturday evening, around 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a red Jeep Cherokee matching the description of the robbery vehicle in the area of ​​North Avenue and 10th Street. Police arrested the male passenger on unrelated warrants. According to the police, the suspect is still missing.

The initial investigation has shown that this was an isolated incident and that there is currently no threat to the public.
