Sioux Falls man arrested for attempted theft from Casey’s gas station

A Sioux Falls man was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail Friday morning after breaking into a Casey’s gas station on East Rice Street, according to Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens.

Police responded to a burglary alarm around 2 a.m. and found the man as he left the store, Clemens said. The man tried to steal lottery tickets and cigarettes.

The man was also found with burglary tools, including screwdrivers, pliers and a crowbar, Clemens said. He was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

This is the second Casey’s gas station to be robbed in the Sioux Falls area this week.

Shadrich William Sides, 33, was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail on Tuesday for first-degree robbery and aggravated assault at a Casey’s gas station located at the intersection of East 15e Street and South Sycamore Avenue.
