ED finds ‘irregularities’ in ticket sales for Coldplay, Diljeet concerts – Telangana Today

Agency conducts searches at 13 locations in five states: Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Punjab

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Saturday it has discovered alleged irregularities after raiding a money laundering investigation into “black marketing” of tickets for Cold play And Diljit Dosanjh‘Dil-Luminati’ concerts.

The searches were carried out on Friday at 13 locations in five states: Delhi, Maharashtra (Mumbai), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Karnataka (Bengaluru) and Punjab (Chandigarh).

Normally tickets are available on platforms like Zomato, BookMyShow and others, but when demand is very high, these tickets sell out quickly, causing people to seek alternative sources, the federal agency said.

“Searches and investigation conducted by ED have revealed information about multiple individuals known for issuing such tickets including fake tickets through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram,” the ED said in a statement.

It added that several “incriminating” materials such as mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, etc. used in the ticket sales “scam” were seized.

The searches were aimed at investigating the illegal sale of tickets, financial networks that support these scams, and detecting the proceeds of crime arising from such illegal activities, the report said.
