Youth arrested in connection with armed robbery in Dorchester

BOSTON – A 15-year-old male was arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery that occurred two days earlier in Dorchester, police said.

Officers from Boston Police Department District B-3 arrested the suspect near Harvard Street and Vesta Road around 12:53 p.m.

The youth, who was not identified due to his age, attempted to flee but was quickly captured in a nearby alley.

During the chase, officers saw the suspect throw away a firearm.

According to police, two replica firearms were recovered along the suspect’s flight path.

The arrest stems from an armed robbery reported at 613 Park Street on Wednesday at 12:02 p.m.

Police said the suspect displayed a firearm and stole $600 from the register before fleeing and discarding clothing on Norwell Street.

At the time of his arrest, the minor was wanted for armed robbery while masked.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not released any further details about the incident or the suspect.
