Dairy Queen robbery suspect still on the loose

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – Grand Junction police are searching for the suspect in an aggravated robbery at Dairy Queen on Saturday.

At approximately 9:25 p.m., GJPD officers responded to Dairy Queen, 709 North Ave., for a report of a possible robbery. When officers arrived, they discovered that a man had broken in and stolen items from the freezer. They then confronted an employee with a knife before he left in a red Jeep Cherokee. No injuries have been reported.

That same evening at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle matching the description of the robbery vehicle in the area of ​​North Avenue and 10th Street. A male passenger was arrested on unrelated warrants, but the suspect remains at large.

Officers determined that it was an isolated incident that posed no further threat to the public. This incident is still under investigation.
