Man arrested for CVS robbery in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery Sunday in Lynchburg, according to Lynchburg police.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a robbery at a CVS at 3908 Campbell Avenue at 6:22 p.m.

An employee stated that a man was seen stuffing merchandise into two pillowcases and displaying a firearm under his shirt when confronted.

Police say the man fled and was found shortly afterwards at a nearby apartment complex, where he was arrested without incident.

According to police, 40-year-old Edward Lewis Franklin has been charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, robbery in which a firearm was used or displayed, and possession or transportation of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Franklin is being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
