Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in a Concord park

Oct. 28—A local man is facing several charges, including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, in connection with a shooting in Concord this month, police said Monday.

The Oct. 7 shooting in Rollins Park left one person hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury.

Makeeva Laroche, 22, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder, as well as attempted first-degree assault, attempted second-degree assault, attempted robbery with a firearm, conspiracy to commit robbery and criminal use of a firearm, Concord police said.

Other charges include criminal endangerment with a firearm, two counts of tampering with physical evidence and a single count of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, police said.

Laroche was ordered held in protective custody at the Merrimack County House of Corrections pending his arraignment.
