Woman charged with drug trafficking, assaulting officer

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A woman is facing several charges in Pike County, including drug trafficking and assaulting a police officer.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at Walmart in Pikeville. Police said Lori Fields, 64, of Pinsonfork, picked up items and left without paying.

Police said Fields resisted arrest at the front of the store and began fighting with officers.

After finding the items, police said they also found substances suspected to be heroin, meth, fentanyl and cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia.

Lori Fields was charged with assault on a police officer, shoplifting, resisting arrest and menacing. She also faces three drug trafficking charges.

She was taken to the Pike County Detention Center.
