Stratford homeowner exchanges gunfire with suspected car thieves

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – No injuries were reported after a homeowner exchanged gunfire with would-be car thieves early Tuesday morning, Stratford police said.

Police said they responded to the 200 block of Burritt Avenue around 4:30 a.m. for a report of a disturbance.

Fairfield police are searching for a suspect in an armed Porsche carjacking

Upon arrival, they learned the homeowner was exchanging gunfire with two suspects who he believed were trying to steal one of his cars in the driveway.

According to police, several shots from the suspects hit the home. They fled the scene before police arrived.
