Local man convicted in child sexual exploitation case

CANTON, Ohio (WJW) — A Canton The man who had hundreds of images of child pornography in his possession will spend 26 years in prison.

Brian Patterson, 44, of Canton, had 766 images of child sexual abuse material, also known as child pornography, including 50 images of children under the age of 12, according to court documents. The remaining images, according to the US Department of Justice, were of a child who did not know she was being recorded by a hidden camera.

Patterson had previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including sexual exploitation of children, receipt and distribution of visual images of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child sexual abuse material.

In addition, Patterson was ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release after his prison sentence ended and was required to register as a sex offender.
