INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The last of three people has been convicted in connection with more than a dozen crimes that occurred over a week in October 2020, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.

Richard Garrett, Delance Hatcher and Rashaana Farrow were convicted for their roles in 13 incidents in Marion County, including non-fatal shootings; armed robbery; a carjacking; a collision that led to the death of Anthony Mack in the 3500 block of Tacoma Avenue on October 17, 2020; and the murder of Devon Gillespie, 19, of Indianapolison August 17, 2020, in the 2900 block of East 38th Street.

Garrett and Farrow were arrested in November 2020 for their alleged involvement in unrelated cases death of Fishers Police Department K-9 Harlej. Garrett was arrested while in possession of a .45mm handgun.

Garrett was the last to be convicted. A jury convicted him in a six-day trial that ended Monday. It was his second test. Earlier this year, prosecutors say, Garrett allegedly punched his attorney in court, leading to a mistrial.

Garrett’s list of crimes, including reckless homicide; conspiracy to commit murder; theft causing bodily harm; two counts of aggravated battery; armed robbery; and four counts of carrying a pistol without a permit.

Garrett was scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 22 in Marion Superior Court 31.

A press release issued Tuesday by the District Attorney’s Office stated: “Delance Hatcher and Rashaana Farrow have also been charged for their roles in these incidents. Last year, Hatcher received a 65-year prison sentence for his role in the case. Farrow pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder (Level 2 Felony) and is now serving a 30-year prison sentence.”

Shell casings at the crime scene were consistent with firearms that Garrett and Hatcher had. Phone records that placed them at crime scenes also helped convict them.
