Latest US elections: Donald Trump speaks from a garbage truck after entering swing states in a jab at Joe Biden | American news

Donald Trump and his allies are seizing routine election processes as signs of fraud in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania, amplifying accusations, videos and lawsuits surrounding alleged voting irregularities that have drawn resistance from local officials for days after Election Day.

The script is known.

As in 2020, Trump’s campaign is spreading viral videos of alleged misconduct and promising its eager supporters a legal showdown that experts fear could be used to challenge the outcome of the election if he loses.

Trump supporters yesterday distributed videos of long lines in Buck County, Pennsylvania, where voters waited to request a ballot in person.

A social media post from Trump campaign political director James Blair said a line in one area was shut down early around 2:30 p.m.

“This is oppressive and intimidating,” Blair wrote in a post on X seen by 1.8 million people.

Elon Musk, the owner of X and a Trump supporter, responded: “Why are they doing this?”

Pennsylvania does not offer in-person early voting.

Election officials are offering voters the opportunity to request, complete and return their ballots in person at the county election office for early casting of a ballot.

Because long lines have formed, officials shut down the line mid-afternoon so the office can close as scheduled at 5 p.m., Bucks County spokesman James O’Malley said yesterday.

Unlike Election Day, there is no legal requirement that county offices stay open late for voters in line.
