Love is blind exes Marissa George – and her mother – confronted with it Ramesses Prashad about the exes’ emotional breakup during the Season 7 reunion, rehashing what led to their broken engagement.

During the tell-all that aired on Netflix as of Wednesday, October 30, Marissa, 33, finally got an answer from Ramses, 35, about why he ended their relationship

“There was a day when I I think for me it was really a blow and realizing and realizing that if I moved on with Marissa, I would be in a place every day where I would feel exhausted and overwhelmed,” Ramses explained. “I don’t want to change who she is, she deserves a person and a love that will embrace who she fully is and I just felt like that person couldn’t be me.”

Before Marissa could even intervene, her mother — who famously protected her throughout season seven — confessed to the audience that she confronted Ramses herself the night of the breakup.

“I went there and talked to him and even though I wanted to punch him in the throat, (I wanted) to see what was going on,” she said, before noting that she was grateful he ended things. ‘I’m grateful he called it off. She would have carried the relationship. So he did the right thing.”

Marissa’s mother then pointed out that Ramses should have expressed his concerns about the romance earlier. “(You should have said), ‘I feel a little doubtful’ instead of reassuring her every time she asked him,” she told him. “She really felt like she was getting into this experiment and meeting her One. And you broke her. I had to help pick her up. She was devastated. You didn’t see that part. You should run away and cry as if you were the one who got hurt.”

Marissa was then given a chance to speak and noted that she actually “had no say” in the relationship, as Ramses never communicated with her. “All you just said is ‘I.’ But we are a partnership. If you tiptoe around talking about my feelings, I have no say in how we can get better and grow in a relationship.”

Ramses ended the conversation by apologizing for not being “up to date” anymore, telling Marissa that it was his “only regret” about his experience on the show.

He also provided an explanation for their documented argument about birth control, where he seemed to become frustrated because Marissa wanted him to wear condoms so she wouldn’t have to go back on birth control.

“I want to make it clear that at no point did I attempt to give Marissa an ultimatum. “She had very valid reasons for not wanting to use hormonal contraception and I am well aware of the effects it has on a woman’s body so I would never want to force that on her,” he claimed. “We kind of came to a solution that worked best for us, and it wasn’t just me being whiny and bratty and saying, ‘Oh, I don’t want to use a condom or whatever that perception is.'”

Marissa and Ramses connected sight unseen when the Love is blind Pods came to Washington, DC in October 2023, a year before the season aired on Netflix. At the end of the experiment, the pair became engaged, but broke up within days of their planned wedding.

Ramses was the one who pulled the plug on their relationship he wasn’t ready to marry again. (The nonprofit program officer was previously married and divorced before moving on Love is blind.)

“I understand that falling in love and breaking your heart is a risk, I understand that,” Ramses said during the finale, which aired on October 23. “But last night I was talking to my niece’s mother and my brother and we had a long conversation where I just talked about this decision and I learned about things and f…, I just learned that my ex was in a lot more pain than I realized after the divorce. And I’m just afraid that something might happen that would cause me to hurt you.

He continued, “After getting married and seeing other marriages, I just don’t think love alone is enough. This connection is great, but there are certain things you can’t ignore, especially when it comes to living together and spending the day together, which is extremely important. That’s what could potentially grind us down over time.”

Marissa then burst into tears, claiming that she was blindsided by Ramesses’ decision. The clerk later claimed Glamour that Ramesses never explained why he no longer wanted to marry her and revealed that they tried to keep in touch.

“We saw each other a few more times after that. I had a really hard time with the breakup, as you can imagine from the scene where I was crying and stuff,” Marissa shared Glamour in an interview published earlier this month. “It probably took me six months to get back on track and really move on. I saw him a few times when I was in DC, and there was one time we talked on the phone for eight and a half (or) nine hours one day.
