Jimmy Kimmel has advice for Donald Trump: If you have to ‘tell people I’m not Hitler, something is wrong’

Jimmy Kimmel had some simple advice for Donald Trump during his monologue on Wednesday: “If you find yourself having to tell people, ‘I’m not Hitler,’ something is wrong.”

Kimmel referred to a meeting where Trump insisted, “I am not Hitler,” because of the number of former aides who confirmed his admiration for dictators and Hitler in particular. Here’s a video:

But back to Kimmel, who said, “If your wife has to answer questions about her husband being a Hitler, maybe it’s time to address it.”

After playing more footage from the meeting in question, which featured Trump’s family members speaking on his behalf, he said: “You know, it can be a shaky proposition to send your family members out to speak on your behalf. Especially when that family member is your son, High Pitch Eric.

Earlier in the monologue, Kimmel commented on the racist rally Trump hosted in New York last weekend, during which a supporter said racist things about Latinos, including calling Puerto Rico a “garbage island.”

“While he may be trying to play it off and distract us, this nonsense stuff is a serious problem for him. He is facing a firestorm of anger from the Latino population,” Kimmel said. “Bad Bunny, J-Lo and Ricky Martin all voiced their support for Kamala Harris this week.”

“But instead of apologizing, which he doesn’t, he sat down to talk about it with noted racial tolerance advocate Sean Hannity,” Kimmel said before showing a clip.

During the clip, Trump made claims that are vastly exaggerated and made another claim that “no president has done more for Puerto Rico than he has.

“He has a point: No president in history has thrown more rolls of paper towels at the Puerto Rican people than Donald Trump,” Kimmel declared, referring to Trump’s callous response to Hurricane Maria in 2017.
