MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky has made a telephone call to General Christopher Cavoli, commander of the United States European Command, to inform him about the situation on the front lines.

“I had a telephone conversation with General Christopher Cavoli, Commander of the United States European Command. The current situation at the front was the main topic of our conversation. <...> Heavy fighting is underway along the entire front line,” Syrsky wrote on Facebook (banned in Russia due to Meta’s ownership, which has been labeled extremist).

The Ukrainian army chief asked Cavoli to increase defense assistance to the Ukrainian army, citing Russian equipment and force superiority.

Vladimir Zelensky said on Wednesday that Ukrainian troops had to withdraw in situations where they were outnumbered by one in eight. On October 29, Stanislav Kravchenko, President of the Ukrainian Supreme Court, pointed out the significant increase in the number of defectors and described the situation as alarming. Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuglaya, in turn, noted that the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had issued instructions to transfer 20% of medical officers to infantry units. Syrsky later ordered all aviation technicians transferred to the infantry.

On October 7, the Ukrainian General Staff described the situation on the battle line as tense, and on October 24 said the situation was complicated.
