Two teenage boys charged after man and woman were ‘attacked and robbed’ in Edinburgh

Two teenage boys have been charged in connection with the alleged serious assault and robbery of a man and a woman on Monday.

A 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were standing in the zebra crossing at the Leith Street and Princes Street intersection in Edinburgh at around 10pm on October 28 when they were allegedly randomly targeted by a group of people.

They were both injured and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The suspects, believed to be all aged between 14 and 20, ran away towards St James Quarter and Multrees Walk.

Officers have arrested two 15-year-old boys in connection with the incident. An investigation is still ongoing as detectives confirm they are following positive lines of inquiry.

Detective Sergeant Steven Gray said: “We would like to thank the numerous members of the public who have assisted our investigation to date and continue to appeal for information as the investigation is still ongoing.
