Kaye Adams was running from the Loose Women set in the middle of a live broadcast when she had a coughing fit.

The 61-year-old presenter sparked concern among her fellow panellists before abruptly rising from her seat and being seen in front of one of the main cameras.

Fellow co-host Nadia Sawalha was discussing her husband Mark Adderley’s 20 years of sobriety when she noticed Kaye wasn’t feeling well.

Nadia looked at Kaye, who was off camera, and said, “Are you okay?” Would you like some water? She has an itch.”

Kaye then mumbled that she needed water before running in front of the camera and going backstage.

Nadia, Olivia Attwood and Denise Welch then continued hosting the show with an empty fourth chair.

Kaye returned a few minutes later and the crowd gave her a round of applause. She sat down in her chair and apologized for her absence.

It comes after Kaye revealed the impact Strictly Come Dancing can have on a person’s mental health after she became the first contestant to be booted from the show.

The star starred in the 2022 dance talent show, but she soon found herself in a dreaded dance-off and was the first to leave.

The presenter has now admitted this The mirror that while she has no regrets about her time on the show, the experience has deterred her from applying for similar shows in the future.

Reflecting on her short stint on the show, Kaye said: “I just don’t know if I’m desperate to be judged like that again.”

She added: “You could go into the jungle, you could try your best, do everything, but for some reason you get voted out first and you just feel like a loser. I don’t think I need that in my life.’

The BBC One show recently came under fire with allegations of bullying and complaints of abuse.

Although Kaye acknowledges that she has experienced bruising, she blames it on her own naivety, not the show and certainly not her dance partner Kai Widdrington.

The presenter admitted that Kai was the perfect gentleman, saying: ‘Kai was an absolute gentleman from start to finish. I was so happy to be paired with him and I couldn’t have asked for anything more from him.’

The star also added that she met some “amazing” people on Strictly, but it was a “tough” show, and viewers at home can’t see how much hard work goes into the performances.
