Is Sam really dead? 5 Ways ‘General Hospital’ Kelly Monaco Can Bring Back

Any soap opera fan knows that no one ever is Real disappeared in the world of soaps. Characters are seemingly killed off, only to be brought back years later. The possibilities are endless.

Kelly Monaco‘s exit from General Hospital has drawn outrage from fans who watched her play the much-loved Sam McCall for two decades. Her character died on the soap in the October 30 episode, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the last we’ll see of her on the show.

Given the soap’s history, there are a number of ways Monaco could return GH (if she wants). Let’s list the most plausible (and unlikely) theories.

1. Sam has twins.

It’s a soap opera story as old as time. A mysterious twin appears out of nowhere. It’s already happened to Jason and Drew (and countless others). Why couldn’t the same thing happen to Sam? Surprisingly, a twin brother for Sam isn’t a storyline for her character (yet).

2. Alicia Montenegro returns.

Technically, Sam has a doppelgänger, who is still alive. Monaco only appeared for a handful of episodes in 2005 as Alicia Montenegro, but as far as we know she’s still kicking and probably in jail. Could she escape and go to Port Charles?

3. Sam faked her death.

For reasons we don’t even need to understand right now! Numerous characters have faked their deaths only to reappear years later. Sam didn’t die off-screen, so this complicates the theory a bit, but it’s still doable!

4. This is all a dream.

Look, all Sam McCall fans hope this is the case. The departure of Monaco is a shocking blow to the fandom. We all just want to wake up and forget this whole exit ever happened. A dream scenario does not actually fit into the world of GHespecially since it can be erased The return of Lulu Spencerbut it’s not impossible. Maybe Sam just had one Real bad nightmare.

5. Monaco could return to Port Charles as Livvie Locke.

This is far-fetched, but I am one Port Charles fan for life. Before she was Sam McCall, Monaco played Livvie Locke on the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles. Supposedly Livvie’s death was confirmed in 2013, but then again, this is the world of soaps. They tried to reshape the whole Caleb/Livvie storyline General Hospitalbut I still believe there’s a way Livvie could be lurking!
