Teen killed in shooting at Central and Oliver

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – One teenager is dead and another injured after a shooting late Halloween night in East Wichita.

On Thursday around 10:30 p.m., police were called to a disturbance involving shots fired at the QuikTrip in Central and Oliver. When police arrived on scene, two teenage boys arrived at Wesley Medical Center with gunshot wounds. A 14-year-old boy died, while a 15-year-old boy was admitted with serious injuries. Police determined that 15 shots may have been fired.

Police have made no arrests in connection with the shooting and had no information about a possible suspect. As police began processing the scene at Central and Oliver, they made multiple arrests unrelated to the shooting. Police say people in a large crowd were uncooperative at the time.

The shooting happened Thursday after 10 p.m. near the Quicktrip on Central and Oliver.

Sedgwick County dispatch confirmed two people showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. One person died from his injuries, another is in critical condition.

Wichita police arrested two people at the scene. The Quickrip is closed and traffic is blocked in that area.
