Dancing with the Stars Week 6 Halloween Recap: Bachelorette Jenn Tran

Since it was Halloween week, the theme of Tuesday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars” was “Halloween Nightmares.” And it would ultimately be just that “The Bachelorette” Jenn Tran.

It started as a dream. The University of Wisconsin-Madison alum and her professional dance partner, Sasha Farber, received their best scores of the competition. And later, when it was time for the first “Dance-Offs” of the season, the pair would win their round.

So when they were eliminated at the end of the night, it was as shocking as a horror movie scare.

“What are you afraid of?” Farber asked Tran.

“Just like things that come to me without me knowing, like vampires,” Tran replied.

That’s “perfect,” Farber said, because the two would perform a Contemporary to “vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo.

“I love that song,” Tran told him. “I’ve dated a lot of vampires in my past, which sucked the energy out of me.”

(Cough cough, Devin Stradercough cough).

To help Tran bring out her “real vampire,” Farber enlisted former “DWTS” contestant Alyson Hannigan, the actress who played Willow Rosenberg on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

“The more you believe in it, the more we believe in it,” Hannigan told Tran.

She advised Tran to “think about someone you hate terribly” and “stick to the intensity.”

“It was hard to watch everyone get A’s, but I just waited for that moment,” Tran said in a short segment. “But everything Alyson said really helped, so this vampire has a point to prove and is going to kill him.”

Tran and Farber’s performance brought the ballroom to its feet.

Judge Bruno Tonioli gave Tran a new nickname: “The Queen of the Damned.”

“You really sunk your teeth into that performance,” he said.

In previous dances, especially in the early parts of them, Tran lost control a bit, he said. But this time she was ‘completely on top of it’.

“You were actually in charge of the dance and you won, honey,” he told her. ‘You did it. You did it, baby.”

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Tran that she deserved the A she had been working towards.

“That was a great dance,” Inaba said. “This was athletic and emotional. You were in character the entire time. All the movements were raw, tight and clean.”

Judge Derek Hough loved it, especially the intensity and drama.

“It was so amazing,” he said. “You had character all the way. I love this journey. I love this collaboration. Well done.”

Tran and Farber received a 28 out of 30, with a surprising 10 from Inaba, and nines from both Hough and Tonioli.

“I don’t even know what to think,” Tran said. “We worked so hard this week.”

She thanked her partner and gave him a hug.

The first ‘Dance-Offs’ of the season

Tuesday marked the return of “Dance-Offs.” According to ABC, “Two at a time, couples face each other on the ballroom floor while simultaneously dancing against each other in the same style.”

The winners of each of the three “Dance-Offs” would be selected by the judges and would receive three bonus points added to their judges’ total for the evening.

Won immunity for “Dance-Offs” last weekKinney and Armstrong did not have to participate in this round and automatically received three bonus points.

Tran and Farber went up against Nedoroscik and Arnold. They were assigned a salsa to “Jump In The Line” from the “Beetlejuice” soundtrack.

After the performances, Hough said, “Jenn and Sasha, I love that you guys got right into it. There’s a lot of content. You were dancing the whole time.”

He also gave props to Nedoroscik’s tricks.

“I don’t know,” Hough said. “It’s apples and oranges.”

“You have completely opposite styles,” Inaba said.

Tran is smooth and rhythmic, she said, while Nedoroscik is exciting.

Who would the jury crown as the winner? Tran and Farber.

Who was eliminated from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Week 6 on Tuesday night?

With those three extra bonus points, Tran and Farber were tied for third place, while Howard and Karagach were on their way to elimination on the leaderboard.

“The scores for this cast are so close that every vote can make a difference,” said co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. “Even with bonus points, no one is guaranteed safe from elimination.”

As usual, live votes were combined with the judges’ scores to determine who would be eliminated from the competition.

When Ribeiro announced that Tran and Farber were going home, the two hugged it out.

Co-host Julianne Hough asked Tran about the most important thing she learned or gained from participating in the competition.

“Honestly, so much,” Tran said. “But I mean, just to be here – I have a lisp. I’m sorry, I have fangs – but I’m just so grateful to have met all the people I’ve met here. Everyone here has been so wonderful and so friendly. “

She has been “attached at the hip” to Farber for the past few weeks, she said, and “can’t even imagine life” without him.

“I’m honestly so grateful for everyone here and everything I’ve learned,” she said.

The show will not air next week due to Election Night, but will return on Tuesday, November 12. The show will simulcast on both ABC and Disney+ at 7 p.m. and will be available on Hulu the next day.
