One death in a collision early Friday

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida Highway Patrol says at least one person is dead after a crash in Bradenton this morning.

Investigators first responded to the crash just before 3 a.m. Friday. It happened near where 44th meets US-301.

A man was walking across the lanes when a sedan struck them. At this time, the identities of both the driver and the pedestrian are unknown.

After the initial crash, the driver of what may have been a white Nissan sedan drove away, leaving the body behind.

A second accident occurred immediately afterwards. An SUV and a motorcycle crashed over the pedestrian’s body.

The southbound lanes of 301 are closed in the area as investigators investigate the area. Anyone with information about the first car should contact Florida Highway Patrol.
